Marcel Morgenstern | Director of Sales
Marcel's job is to oversee the National and Export Sales for PondView Estate. While his official title is Director of Sales, he really sees himself more as a "Merchant of Fine Wines". He really believes in the quality of our wines, making his job showcasing them at local restaurants, or to national and international agents, customers at duty-free shops, and visitors at international trade shows, both highly rewarding and enjoyable.
- I think that the best way to enjoy wine is to share it with friends and family over a great meal. I love sitting in a restaurant and seeing the people at the table next to me are enjoying a bottle of our wines. That's the kind of experience that really makes my day.
After moving to Canada in 1999, I started selling VQA wines as a tour guide for one of the bigger Niagara wineries.
I was hooked immediately by this beautiful region and its growing wine industry. In 2001, I was hired by another growing Niagara winery to start up their licensee sales department and facilitate sales to the hospitality industry.
Growing this sales channel from a one man operation to one with full, traveling a sales team was exhilarating and very rewarding.
I held this position for almost 10 years, and met a lot of amazing people in the local and international wine industry as a result. Every year, my love of this industry grew, and I soon realized it was where I always wanted to work.
During this time, I met Lou and his family. Little did we know then that after one more career move, I would be working together closely with my new friends.
In 2013, after some in-depth discussions with Lou, I decided that I was ready to go back to a smaller, more hands-on operation. That was when I stepped into the role of expanding the markets for PondView's outstanding wines.
My favourite part about working with Lou, his family, Fred and the whole PondView team is that everyone is very direct, straightforward, and from the heart. I believe that visitors to PondView can sense this very special quality when they walk into the winery. You can definitely taste it in the wines!

Let me leave you with one insight about visiting PondView, and the rest of Niagara's wine country:
Our region is beautiful in summer and fall, but if you really want to get to know us and our wines, come back in the off season. You'll be able to spend some time chatting with us and having a look at our production facility. An off-season visit will give you the chance to spend more time asking questions, and really getting a feel for what we do so well here at PondView Estate.
