In 2019 our wine club members got together for a fun blending session to learn a bit more about the main three red grape varietals that we grow in our Bella Terra Vineyards: Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Final blends were tasted and judged by Lou Puglisi to decide what direction we would take for a big anniversary wine. It was a very memorable, interactive and fun experience!
Unbeknownst to all of us, at the same time, Fred Di Profio, our winemaker, had his eyes on a couple of barrels that he earmarked for greatness (and did not share with anyone!). When Fred presented his final assemblage of 2016 Cabernet and Merlot to Lou, there was just no argument to be had: 600 bottles - limited edition from the top barrels of 2016!
