2019 Bella Terra Cabernet Appassimento

Tasting Notes: This Cabernet Appassimento was produced from 100% Cabernet Franc from our estate vineyard. Hand harvested from our oldest vines, pre-selected and air dried on racks for 8 weeks to concentrate flavours, colour and natural sugars, aged in French oak barrels for 30 months, this is a truly captivating wine with a range of complex and enticing characteristics. Its deep garnet colour with a tawny rim invites exploration.  

On the nose, the wine offers a delightful blend of sun-dried fruit, showcasing aromas such as figs, dates, and prunes. These luscious fruity notes are accompanied by layers of balsamic, cedar, hibiscus, and fresh tobacco, adding depth and intrigue to the aromatic profile. On the palate, this dry wine displays a well-balanced acidity and fresh tannins, presenting a full-bodied nature with a velvety texture and generous alcohol content. The wine continues to impress with flavours of currants, prunes, and strawberry compote, creating a multi-layered and nuanced tasting experience. The finish is long and satisfying, leaving a lasting impression.
