Recent renovations will make you feel like you're in our Niagara vineyard as you sample our delicious wines & icewines.
The fall has been a busy one here at Pondview.
Harvest is in full swing, so we decided to complicate our lives with renovations in our wine shop!
Our in-house carpenter and designer, Marco Spioni, brought some of Niagara's geological history inside to build a focal point display for our award winning wines and icewines.
Stones and rocks are a yearly crop.
In Niagara vineyards, stones and rocks are a yearly crop. At one time they were used in foundations for houses and barns. You can see the granite that originated in Northern Canada and deposited in Niagara from the glacier.
If you look closely, you can see fossils from some of the sea creatures that existed in Lake Iroquois imprinted on the limestone and sandstone that dates back to the Palaeozoic era.
Marco, with his artistic hand, has fashioned a simulated, vintage stone foundation that is incorporated with glass shelving for a stunning display area for our premium wines.
